SDSCI Holiday Party
Sunday December 15, 2024
4:30 PM - 7:30 PM
Aboard the sportfishing boat the Excel, to view the San Diego Bay Parade of Lights.
As the Excel will be leaving the dock to view the parade prompt arrival is paramount.
Dinner, drinks and coffee will be provided.
The evening will be free of charge, and because space is limited this event will be exclusive to San Diego SCI members and one guest.

SDSCI Youth Shooting Clinic

San Diego SCI Youth Shooting Clinic
The San Diego SCI chapter is sponsoring a Youth Shooting Clinic on May 4th, 2024 to be held at the Lemon Grove Rod & Gun Club, located near Alpine CA. This event will expose our youth to the safe care and operation of both rifle and shotguns. Participants will shoot .22 caliber rifles from shooting benches at stationary targets, as well as shotguns, at moving clay targets. NRA certified Range Safety Officers will conduct gun safety training along with the proper handling and operation of both types of firearms. This is a free event for any youth and is a great opportunity to introduce today’s youth to firearms in a safe and controlled environment. There are a limited number of spots available so please do hesitate. All participants, shooters and others are required to sign the release of liability prior to the shooting event. Parents or Legal Guardians must also sign parental release form in addition to the release of liability form.

This event is held on Sunday May 4th at Lemon Grove Rod & Gun Club,
located at 16232 Sequan Truck Trail, Alpine, CA 91901.
Sign-in starts at 7:30 AM and shooting should start at 8:00 AM.
All attendees, both shooters and non-shooters are required to turn in
a signed “Hold Harmless Agreement” forms and all youth shooters
are required to turn in a signed “Parent or Legal Guardian Release”
forms.(see below) Please bring the completed forms to the range on shoot day.
Guns, ammunition and targets will be provided free of charge.

HARVEST OF THE HUNT at the Ranch, Julian CA
San Diego SCI invites you and your family to join us at The Ranch for Harvest of the Hunt. Come kick off the day with a European mount demonstration (9 am). We will be focusing on youth for this hands-on demo. We will then lead into a big BBQ and (of course) Julian pie! During lunch SCI will be teaching a land navigation and water purification course for all the kiddos. There will be archery novelty shoots to enter into to win rad prizes, and bows for kids to pick up and shoot. We will be running some awesome giveaways and prizes alongside all the other non-profits and outdoor organizations!. There will be other local groups who support SoCal hunting, conservation, a veteran organizations there to give out info! This is going to be a great time for your family to hang with other like-minded families, get outdoor time in, grub some incredible food, and have FUN!

Public Utilities Department Lakes Recreation Program
The City of San Diego Lake's Recreation Program will be accepting Barrett duck blind reservations at San Vicente Reservoir on Saturday October 5th 2024.
ADDRESS:

RESERVATIONS/LOTIERY:
-Drawing of chips to determine place in line will begin at 7:30 am promptly!
-Reservation includes up to 2 hunters, blind area, and rowboat.
-Reservations will be issued in the name of that person only (no stand-ins or surrogates permitted) and are not transferrable
-Reservations will only be issued to persons 16 years of age or older and possessing a valid California Hunting License
-The number of reservations that can be made by each hunter the first time through during sign-ups is three (3), with no more than one weekend date total
-Payment methods accepted are: Cash, checks and money orders (NO CREDIT OR ATM CARDS!)
-Once everyone has gone through the line once anyone interested will be permitted to come through a second time with no limit on reservations made
-Checks should be made out to San Diego City Treasurer

-2024-2025 Duck Hunting Season, HUNT DATES FOR THE SEASON ARE YET TO BE DETERMINED.
-2024-2025 Duck Hunting Days, Wednesday and Saturday
-The number of blinds this year will be determined at a later date.
-Max of three (3) hunters per blind

-Blind Reservation (hunt area, rental rowboat and up to 2 hunters) $70.00
-Adult (ages 16 years and older) $30.00

August Membership Meet Up
Join us for a Happy Hour Membership Mixer on Thursday, August 22nd from 5:30-8:30 PM at Bali Hai Restaurant on Shelter Island.
Enjoy complimentary appetizers hosted by the chapter and drinks available for purchase. This is a great opportunity to connect with fellow members, meet new faces and talk hunting! Lisa McNamee of SCI California Coalition is coming to speak about what the Coalition does for hunters and the importance of staying informed and involved.

R2B In the Wild Extravaganza!
On July 13th, 2024, Right to Bear will be hosting a parking lot party at 1pm.
The goal of this event is to bring together hunters and sportsman to celebrate their hard work during the fundraising season. Without programs like yours our outdoor world would have been stripped of us many years ago!
Come and enjoy good people and a good time!
Right to Bear will host in our parking lot (2202 Alpine Blvd,) there will be a band all day, we will have some great food and drinks as well.
We want every outdoor group to show the world that we can communicate and fight together. Bird hunters, elk shooters, arrow flingers, and lead chukers alike, we are all on the same team! Let’s get together and show the world that we are on the same fucking team!
